Windows 7 Beta is out!

For all you guys out there that are on the cutting edge bleeding edge of technology , you may want to check out Windows 7 beta. Windows 7 is schedule to come out later this year but if you want to try the Beta version now (Beta version is only good for 6 months then it will cease to work) then click here.

Some of the new features:

Faster & Easier

  • Improved Task Bar
  • New ways to Work In Windows
  • Jump List
  • Internet Explorer 8
  • Windows Live
  • Better Devise Management
  • HomeGroup

Work Your Way

  • Faster, more responsive performance
  • Extended battery life
  • Theme packages reflect your style
  • Take control of problems

New Probabilities

  • Share music and videos
  • Windows Touch
  • Handwriting recognition additions

You know you want to test drive this puppy BUT you don’t have a test computer to use? NO Problem! Install a removable mobile rack into your PC. You’ll need two trays, one for your main (current) hard drive and the other for your new hard drive that you will use to install Windows 7  on.

Now all you need to do is slide in the hard drive tray you want your computer to boot up on and away you go. There are other ways to go about this like dual booting with one hard drive but using removable trays is by far the easier and cleaner approach.

I got to run now and get my copy. Drop me a line and let me know what you think of Windows 7.

Disaster Diverted

I was just bragging to a friend how great Pc-cillin Security Suite is. I never had a problem with viruses after installing it nor has any of my customers after installing it onto their computers. This is one program I highly recommend!

I needed to download a program that I had bought, but when I entered the URL for the download, Pc-cillin popped up and warned me not to continue and told me how to bypass their message if I was sure this message was wrong.  Seeing as I paid for this program and trusted this site, I bypassed the warning a proceeded to the download page and downloaded my program. When I tried to exit from the download page that’s when I knew I had just been infected with a virus.

I spent the next 10 minutes trying to clean it off my system with no luck. So what did I do? I could have spent more time in trying to remove it, but instead, I just whipped out my last weekly hard drive backup and replaced the whole thing OS and all. In about 20 minutes I was back to normal and back to work.

Now I know that just about everyone reading this knows all about backing up the hard drive but I’ll bet you that only one out of a hundred is backing up their hard drive.

IT WILL HAPPEN! Your hard drive will crash, you’ll get infected, your data will get corrupted, what ever it is, it will happen! It’s just a matter of time.

STOP playing the odds and START your backups today!

The backup program I use is Acronis True Image Home 11.0 another program I’ve used in the past and can recommend is Norton Ghost, both will do a great job for you.
